The All-New2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Chevy just revealed the most powerful and advanced Silverado ever — all-new V8s, a redesigned seven-trim lineup, a fully digital cockpit and Super Cruise with trailering. Here's everything we know, and how to be first in line at Tim Lally.
The Headline
A Ground-Up Redesign of America's Truck
The 2027 Silverado 1500 is an all-new, next-generation truck — not a refresh. Chevrolet revealed it in June 2026 as an early first look, redesigned inside and out with new or improved engines, a reworked trim structure and a fully digital interior. It's the best-selling nameplate for Chevrolet and all of GM, and it's getting its biggest update in years.
All-New V8 Power
New 5.7L and 6.6L Gen 6 Small Blocks — Chevy calls it the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 in its class.
Redesigned, Inside & Out
A bolder face, new LED lighting, a full-width brake light and a fully digital cockpit across every trim.
More Off-Road Choice
Three lifted trims — Custom Trail Boss, Trail Boss and the most capable Silverado ZR2 ever.

Under the Hood
Four Powertrains, Led by Two All-New V8s
The big story is the return to larger-displacement V8s. The new 5.7L and 6.6L Gen 6 Small Blocks replace the outgoing 5.3L and 6.2L V8s, building on the same engine family as the latest Corvette. The proven 2.7L TurboMax and 3.0L Duramax diesel carry over — now with the TurboMax paired to a 10-speed automatic for the first time.
| Engine | What's new | For reference (outgoing) |
|---|---|---|
| 5.7L Gen 6 V8 | All-new naturally-aspirated V8 | Replaces the 355-hp 5.3L V8 |
| 6.6L Gen 6 V8 | All-new — most powerful N/A V8 in class* | Replaces the 420-hp 6.2L V8 |
| 2.7L TurboMax I-4 | Enhanced output; now with 10-speed automatic | Currently 310 hp / 430 lb-ft |
| 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel | Segment-exclusive; reportedly up to ~1,000-mile range | Currently 305 hp / 495 lb-ft |
*Per Chevrolet, "the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 in its class." Official horsepower and torque have not been released. Industry outlets expect roughly 400 hp from the 5.7L and 475–500 hp from the 6.6L, but these estimates are unofficial until Chevrolet confirms figures later in 2026.
The Lineup
Seven Trims, From Work Truck to High Country
The 2027 lineup is restructured around a new core "Silverado" trim that replaces LT (and can be configured to cover the old RST and LTZ). Below it sit value and fleet trims; above and beside it, a deeper bench of off-road and luxury models.
Work Truck
Built for fleet uptime and durability, easy to clean and upfit. Available with the Duramax diesel.
Custom
Full-size value with the content that matters most — now with standard dual exhaust and 20-inch machine-faced wheels.
Custom Trail Boss
An attainable entry to off-road style: 2-inch lift, 34-inch tires and standard 4WD.
Silverado
Replaces LT at the heart of the lineup. Configurable to LT, RST or LTZ-style builds; Z71 package standard on 4x4.
Trail Boss
Real trail presence: 2-inch factory lift, 34-inch MT tires, a dedicated off-road hood and unique interior themes.
ZR2
The most capable ZR2 ever: 35-inch MT tires, front & rear E-lockers, Multimatic DSSV dampers, off-road hood and forged carbon-fiber trim. ZR2 Bison Edition available.
High Country
Top-of-the-line refinement: 22-inch wheels, a Tritan Satin grille and a Silverado-first panoramic sunroof, with real wood and available microfiber suede.
ZR2 Bison
AEV-developed: distinctive bumpers, rocker protection, 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels and a full set of skid plates.
Inside
A Fully Digital Cockpit — Standard
Every 2027 Silverado moves to one modern dash design (the old two-tier setup is gone), anchored by big standard screens and Chevy's hands-free driving tech.
16.3″ + 12.2″ standard
A 16.3-inch center touchscreen and 12.2-inch driver display come standard across the entire lineup.
60″+ of displays
ZR2 and High Country add a standard 11.5-inch passenger screen, head-up display and rear camera mirror.
Super Cruise with trailering
Hands-free highway driving that works while towing — something no competitor in the class offers.
Multi-Flex console + dual charging
A reconfigurable center console with a flip-up work surface, plus available dual wireless phone charging.
The Look
A Bolder, More Premium Face
Chevrolet's design team gave the 2027 Silverado a stronger stance and a more modern, premium execution while keeping its work-ready truck character.
New lighting signatures
New LED headlights and taillights, trim-specific front fascias and a bold three-foot-wide center brake light.
Tougher surfacing
More pronounced wheel-opening moldings (now on every trim) and new rocker treatments give it real presence.
Refined details
Standard quad-tip dual exhaust on Custom and above, new wheels and colors, and a first-ever Silverado panoramic sunroof.

2027 Silverado 1500 FAQ
When does the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 come out?
Chevrolet revealed it in June 2026; production is expected to begin late 2026, with the truck on sale around the end of the year.
This reveal was an early first look. Official on-sale timing and pricing will be announced by Chevrolet later in 2026.
What engines does the 2027 Silverado 1500 have?
Four powertrains: all-new 5.7L and 6.6L Gen 6 Small Block V8s, an enhanced 2.7L TurboMax four-cylinder with a new 10-speed automatic, and the 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel.
Chevrolet says the new V8s make it the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 truck in its class. Official horsepower and torque figures have not been released yet.
What are the 2027 Silverado 1500 trim levels?
Seven trims: Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, Silverado, Trail Boss, ZR2 and High Country.
Three of those — Custom Trail Boss, Trail Boss and ZR2 — are factory-lifted off-road trims. The new "Silverado" trim replaces the LT at the center of the lineup.
What happened to the Silverado LT, RST and LTZ trims?
The new "Silverado" trim replaces the LT and can be configured to cover the former LT, RST and LTZ builds.
When equipped with 4x4, the Silverado trim now includes the Z71 off-road package as standard — skid plates, hill descent control and an off-road suspension.
What is new on the 2027 Silverado ZR2?
It's the most off-road capable Silverado ZR2 ever — 35-inch tires, a 2-inch lift, front & rear E-lockers and Multimatic DSSV dampers.
It also gets a dedicated off-road hood, Torch Red interior accents and a first-ever use of real forged carbon-fiber trim on a ZR2. An available ZR2 Bison Edition adds AEV bumpers, 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels and extra skid plates.
Does the 2027 Silverado have a bigger screen and Super Cruise?
Yes — a 16.3-inch center screen and 12.2-inch driver display are standard on every trim.
ZR2 and High Country add an 11.5-inch passenger screen, head-up display and rear camera mirror for over 60 inches of available displays. Super Cruise hands-free driving with segment-exclusive trailering is offered.
Is there a hybrid or electric 2027 Silverado?
This page covers the gas 2027 Silverado 1500; the all-electric Silverado EV is a separate truck.
Industry reports suggest a Silverado plug-in hybrid could arrive in a future model year, but Chevrolet hasn't confirmed it. The 2027 Silverado 1500 launches with gas V8, turbo four-cylinder and turbo-diesel power.
